And here we go…

It’s been a minute hasn’t it fam? The big news is, we FINALLY got the keys to the new location. (Insert sigh of relief here) This allowed us to start the gigantic project of renovations. Step one, build the ADA ramp that will join the coffee bar side of the store with the gaming side of the store. Our amazing contractor, Total Home Improvement, did an awesome job and now all of our friends can move between the two sides of the store with ease.

Once this was installed we were able to get into the store and begin to remove the existing counters and structures that we won’t be keeping. Plus we had our first cleaning party, to start removing the built up grime and detritus of the last several years. We definitely have A LOT of work ahead of us. Here’s the timeline we’re working with.

June - Cleaning, demolition and dump runs. Finish scheduling all the big professional projects like plumbing and electric. Floorplans and layouts for the store.

July - Plumbing to install drains, grease traps, and sinks. Replace the wall along 64th that was water damaged. Carpentry begins.

August - Electric and carpentry. Painting the walls. Pouring the rad epoxy floors.

September - Open?

This is all a very rough estimation of things, but we’re feeling pretty good about it overall. We’d love to have your help so if you haven’t already signed up on our Google Form now’s the time. We’ll be having work parties as often as possible, so don’t worry if you miss one.
